Bridges in Runcorn
The Runcorn Railway Bridge opened 1868  The Britannia Bridge or Ethelfleda Bridge, standing on the foundations of
the original fort and using a castle like turret design. Connecting Liverpool to London by train, it opened up Runcorn as a
destination. The locomotive depicted is the 46115 Scots Guardsman, likely to have used the line.


The Runcorn Widnes Transporter Bridge (the longest of its kind in the world) Opened 1905


The Silver Jubilee Bridge, opened 1961 by Princess Alexandra.  Runcorn’s  most well known landmark.
